Dover Eye Lab was built by a 17 year veteran dispensing optician from the highly competitive NYC high end market followed by 8 years working for a full service surfacing lab. Having been a lab customer and later working for a lab, most labs do not provide the experience opticians are looking for. Challenging the way most labs operate is looked upon as REBELLING against the system.
The concept behind the lab is using an opticians perspective to bring the best lab products the industry has to offer to market in a way that makes it as easy as possible for dispensers to work with the lab. The highest level of automation and technological advancement guided the lab equipment choices. Respect and understanding of the people the lab needs to operate guided the personnel choices for the lab. This enables the lab to provide the highest quality product both efficiently and cost effectively to our customers.

PEOPLE – Our biggest investment
The lab is staffed by the most experienced people in the industry.
Production team came from other labs and have years of experience working with the technology and equipment we have. Lab representatives are all industry veterans with a well rounded understanding of the different aspects of the products, lab process and business needs of our customers.
Product technical support is experienced in the use and performance of the products we offer. This gives the lab the ability to understand the specific needs of the most complicated order and provide the dispenser the ability to deliver the best possible product to their customers.
PROCESS – How it happens
A tremendous investment has been made in automating every level of the lab.
The customer facing ordering site is intuitive and makes the ordering process quick and simple.
Our fabrication lines are completely automated which eliminates human error. This also minimizes breakage and increases turn time for orders.
Another part of the process is keeping processes to a minimum. The management team is small and the lab representatives are empowered to rely on their experience to make the best decisions for the lab’s customers.
PRODUCT – What we make
Careful and precise decisions were made in the product selections the lab offers. The products were selected on the criteria of being the most technologically advanced and highest quality offerings the market has. The technology selected for our private label products are the most advanced designs available for this need.
Unlike most other labs in the country we believe less is more. Offering every brand from every manufacturer generally has a negative impact on the quality, production time and price of products. Our staff is experts in the products we offer. We are continually working with technology companies to always offer the latest and greatest products we can bring to market.
